Travel Diaries: Bus Rides & Agave Fields- Discovering Guadalajara

Yesterday, we embarked on a new adventure: a bus journey from Puerto Vallarta to Guadalajara! But this wasn’t just any bus ride. Unlike the typical Greyhound experience in the U.S., this was a luxurious, double-decker bus equipped with plush seats, personal TVs, and onboard restrooms. It felt like traveling first class!
Though the drive took a few hours longer than a flight, the scenic countryside views made it worth every moment. We passed fields of agave stretching across the landscape and even went by the town of Tequila, nestled just outside Guadalajara—a visual treat and a real glimpse of Mexican culture.

Now, we’re settled in Guadalajara through mid-December. Known as Mexico’s cultural capital, Guadalajara is the country's second-largest city, brimming with art, history, and vibrancy. Personally, I’m excited to soak in the culture, while the kids are thrilled by the nearby mall with boba tea and frozen yogurt! Here’s hoping we can find something for everyone during our stay.
