From Whale Sharks to Chocolate Hills: A Week of Wonder
Last week was one for the bucket list! We checked off some incredible experiences, both big and small, and made memories to last a lifetime.
The week kicked off Monday morning with the biggest adventure of all—literally! We went swimming with whale sharks. These gentle giants were right next to us in the water, and it was absolutely unforgettable. I’m especially proud of my kids—they were fearless and thrilled by the experience. Honestly, I know adults who’ve been more nervous than they were!

Next, we headed to Moalboal for something completely different—swimming with millions of sardines! This area is famous for its “sardine run,” where a massive school of sardines gathers just 30 meters off the coast. Swimming through this shimmering cloud of tiny fish was such a unique and mesmerizing experience.

On Friday, we took a day trip to Bohol, an island near Cebu that’s full of natural wonders. Our first stop was the famous Chocolate Hills, a breathtaking geological formation with over 1,000 cone-shaped limestone hills. Seeing these conical hills stretch across the landscape was surreal—it’s one of those places that looks even cooler in person than in pictures!

Bohol is also home to one of the most unique primates in the world, the tarsier. These tiny creatures are smaller than your hand, with eyes bigger than their brains! We visited the conservation center, where we were able to safely see a few of them napping. It was fascinating to learn about these vulnerable animals and see the important work being done to protect them.

The day ended with a floating restaurant lunch on the Loboc River. Imagine eating a delicious buffet on a boat, surrounded by scenic views, while live music plays in the background. It was such a relaxing and fun way to wrap up an amazing day. The whole family enjoyed every bit of it!
This past week was a whirlwind of adventure, and I’m so grateful for these bucket-list moments. It was a reminder of how magical it is to explore the world and connect with its wonders, big and small.
